Claim Inquiry number: 223799, Originally National Warranty Company replaced the Flywheel & Clutch Kit with Total Nissan under warranty, which was a painful and took 16 days. Has failed again and only found out from Nissan that they replaced the clutch kit with a cheaper aftermarket assembly. Have now been stalling the repair for over 3 weeks. 3 weeks of constant phone calls and hassles, in my opinion a strategy to make the customer pay for the repair themselves because they need their car back on road. Say they will pay for a rental car but will not pay for a rental car until your claim has been accepted which took weeks in both my cases. Also made us personally pay for a diagnosis of why the clutch failed a second time through Total Nissan, Do not buy this policy no matter what info the car salesman gives you. More hassle than is worth the time and trouble. They have been trouble with ASIC as well, having to refund $4.9 million to customers.
Bad stay away, they will try to backyard fix your problem time and time again and avoid doing the job properly from the start so as to save a dollar, which at the end of it all place the inconveniance on the client and end up paying out the same to finaly fix the issue.
National Warranty Company (Davantage Group Pty Ltd) have no consideration for their customers. In my experience they are only concerned with Identifying clauses within their contract that enable them to justify nil payment to claimants. I provided my warranty to my BWM dealer and they said they would deal with the National Warranty. They then proceed to repair my car as I requested it back ASAP. Imagine my dealers surprise when they were informed by National Warranty that they were not an authorised repairer. Given that Adelaide BMW is the only BMW dealership in the entire state of South Australia I find this difficult to digest. I was sold an “extension to my manufacturers warranty” (National Warranty’s words on their policy, not mine). I am then requested to take my car to a small repairer out in the burbs to complete the works. I receive a bill for $4400 from BMW, which I had to pay before they’d release my car to go to the other repairer. Nation ...read more
I recently received a full refund from National Warranty Company for the dud policy I was sold. I used a template letter from demandarefund.com.au, sent it to Presidian (the company that owns NWC) and within two weeks had a refund.
I couldn't believe it, as I (unitnetionally) bought policy back in 2013. The page is run by a group of lawyers from the Consumer Action group, who were available to follow up on my behalf if need be. Hit them up if you've EVER taken out a dud warranty!
Avoid at ALL cost. It's no surprise that your dealer will encourage you to take out a warranty, and recieve a healthy commission, and most normal people would see this a safe option. However, based on my experience, the guidelines to recieve support on a claim is rediculously complicated and not worth the investment - save yourself the money!
I've taken a 5yr warranty and because I missed a service (due to the car being in storage) they will not honour the claim nor cancel the policy and issue a refund.
If you are in a simliar situation, let the office of fair trading now, so that NWC can rack up some legal bills with their lawyers, and your left with some piece of mind!
