After looking at furniture at Natures Style we decided to order furniture for our new home including a beautiful square dining table, which cleverly extends to a 10 seater along with 10 chairs. We also bought a lounge suite, coffee tables, lamp tables and bedside tables.
We then asked the furniture designer to design and build a cabinet for our television, along with storage for the dvd players, amplifier, sub woofer and ...read more
I have had the good fortune of discovering quality made-to-order Australian furniture, right here in Melbournes south-eastern/bayside suburbs. In my opinion, it can be best described as of artisan quality.
Sourced through Natures Style in Nepean Highway, Bentleigh, has given us individual attention to our design needs and resulted in us being the proud ...read more
I bought 6 chairs made to order. The product that was supplied did not match the specifications of the sample chair in the showroom. As a result, the look of the chair was changed. On top of that, the legs of 3 chairs had ugly white streaks across the Victorian Ash wood and the legs were clearly made from more than one piece of wood, which were not matched in colour. So, the legs of 3 chairs were extremely ugly in appearance. To top it off, they refuse to refund or to get the chairs redone.
Part 2 of my saga with my 6 chairs bought from Nature's Style...a furniture maker/carpenter we know said that the white streaks were glue stains and that the wood is not Victorian Ash, but rather, a Beech softwood. He also said the wood looked like it was assembled overseas. When we had first raised the issue of the white streaks, Nature Style told us it was a "natural part of timber". We asked Nature Style to ask the manufacturer to confirm or certify that the wood is Victorian Ash and they refused and hung up on us on the phone. This is the worst place I have ever experienced and the biggest rip-off of all is that we paid $2,250 for the 6 chairs with poor workmanship (ie. glue and mismatched wood) and now, the prospect that the wood is not even what we were told.
Part 3 of this sorry tale....they did end up getting his manufacturer to remove the glue stains and re-varnish the affected chairs.
They admitted to me that the legs are NOT Vic Ash - the wooden frames were imported from China. However, prior to purchase, his staff told us it was Vic Ash. After purchase, when we sought confirmation, another staff member emphatically confirmed it was Vic Ash.
Imports are not unusual but a business should not represent that it is Vic Ash when it is not.
