Nautical Restaurant

Great food. Great view. Great location. If served by an inexperienced staff member, ask for a manager to assist. I eat there a lot and am aware that for such a big place, they inevitably have a 'layer of newbies' who are inexperienced and also don't stay long.

Great lunch spot. We dined on a saturday so it wasn't that busy. Staff were very polite and responsive to our needs.

The ambience of the place is excellant and being on the forshore creates great views and conversation topics.

We both had fish dishes that were cooked to perfection. Terrific side salads that added to the flavors.

The only negative i have is the portions were quite small for the price.

Overall a satisfying experience.

It was my mothers 60th birthday this past weekend. When I asked what she would like to do for her bday, her only request was to go to a nice seafood restaurant with her family. I booked a table at Nautical Restaurant to celebrate her bday and we were all eagerly anticipating having a great meal and a fabulous night together. I even booked a hotel room nearby for my mum so she wouldnt have to make the 1 hour trip home after dinner that night. So basically, her whole birthday was planned around this restaurant meal. We arrived at 7pm and 4 of our 7 guests ordered the 5 course degustation menu. Our first course arrived at around 8pm and by 10.30pm we still had not received our 2nd course. When begging the staff to please bring some dips or something to put in our stomachs in between courses, we were completely ignored and no food was brought to our table. We went to no 3 station pier on Saturday night. The restaurant was fairly empty and was a cold rainy evening, there was also a function up stairs. We were greeted by our host and led to our table that had dust on it. Express Cafe, the casual coffee, come brekkie, come light lunch arm to 3 Station Pier is ideally situated right on the water with great views of boardwalk promenaders and the pleasure boats that rock in for those on board to refuel at their choice of quality eateries. Breakfast choices are extensive and coffee is consistently good. Daily Papers are always available and a tempting range of gelati is ideally displayed providing parents with a great bribe to get kids to eat their breakfast, behave and they just might get lucky!
