I am a consultant neurosurgeon and spine surgeon in Sydney�s South Eastern area. I practice at St. George Public and Private Hospitals. I also have joint appointment at Sydney Children�s Hospital. I specialise in brain and spinal pathology, with extensive training in both areas. I completed high school certificate in Sydney and graduated from the University of New South Wales in 1998, and completed my neurosurgical training in Sydney and Melbourne in 2007.
I have worked with some of the most respected neurosurgeons and spine surgeons in Sydney and Melbourne (including St. George Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital, and Austin Hospital) as well as spending a year at St. Vincent�s hospital completing spinal surgery fellowship. I also regularly attend local and overseas seminars on management of brain tumours and complex spinal pathologies focusing on my interest in minimally invasive spine surgery for nerve root decompression and spinal fixation.
Following completion of my formal training in neurosurgery, I also undertook overseas fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery where I gained in depth knowledge and skills in management of brain tumors, neuroendoscopy (keyhole brain surgery) and congenital spinal malformations, working with Prof. Memet Ozek (current president of European Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery).
My special interests are in complex spinal pathologies including degenerative pathology, trauma, and tumours involving spinal column and spinal cord; congenital spinal malformations (other than scoliosis); neuro-oncology (including skull base and pituitary tumours); neuro-endoscopy (keyhole surgery of the brain); and neurosurgical interventions for cerebral palsy and spasticity (including selective dorsal rhizotomy).
