New Shanghai

Love the new shanghai dumplings and re-visited with family. Great service and the dumpling portions seems to have improved! Love this place and definitely recommend for those that haven't tried it!

Always like going here for good affordable soup dumplings and recently the rice dumplings were a hit. Enjoyed the atmosphere and fast service.

So we went to New Shanghai recently, in fact just two days post a disappointing suburban Chinese restaurant experience after which I was left desperate for deliciousness. Service was fairly abrupt but efficient. They have a great menu and I have to point out that despite it being in a CBD location and the quality being much higher, the prices are comparable to suburbia! Winning.

Anyway, we ordered the Steamed Pork Buns, Stir-fried Vegetables, Rainbow Beef, Special Fried Rice and Vegetarian Spring Rolls. And they came out in that order which was a bit odd, but we didn't specify so I can't complain! ...read more

I love Xiao long baos! Those delicate little things that you carefully pick up with chopsticks making sure it doesn't burst. Favourite part of it is that it has to be nicely folded, thin edges and juicy filling. They managed to do it really well once however the standard is not always consistent.

Love love love this place - it has become a special occasion place for me and the family. They make simple food that's tasty and great for a relaxed meal~

You can taste the freshness of the ingredients and that hand made quality just adds to the texture of the food.

Definitely a good idea to come with a bunch of friends so you can try lots of things on the menu.

Pan fried buns are always a favourite but the salty yolk tofu is also a winner as they're hard to find elsewhere.
