I've used Newey's once before to dry clean a dress and suit. Dress still smelt after paying $20 for dry clean and had stains on the front that you could see in certain lights... Went back to them on Saturday, dropped off a pair of jeans with a broken zip. told them no rush and that today was fine to collect (Monday). Pick them up, $28.27 to fix a zip... I don't think the jeans even cost that much! Absolutely ridiculous pricing! Will never be using them again!
Had a white Doona cover to be washed and ironed, came back still marked (looked like it had just been ironed) and a $500 silk blouse to be dry-cleaned , the blouse returned with a grease mark on it that wasn't there before, They said they would dry-clean again , I was hesitant and said I would rather wash it myself as I didn't want it to go through a harsher chemical clean as it was delicate and might loose its vibrant purple colour. I was snapped at with the reply that they don't use a chemical process and it will be fine, she grabbed it from my hands and said come back wednesday. When I came back it wasn't ready and I had to keep calling asking about it.Finally they said pick it up & it was 3 shades lighter with almost bleached edges. Ruined. If you have quality items I strongly advise you avoid this cleaners.
I have never come across a company as incompetent as this. I dropped my wedding dress in 5 weeks before my wedding. They told me it would be back in a week. Three week and countless phone calls and visits to the store later and I finally got my dress back. It is damaged- they pulled some padding off- and it has a makeup stain on it which was never there before.
To top it all off, the staff are very rude and demeaning. I was virtually hung up on and was told that I had been called about the dress- I wasn't.
Do NOT take your things to this or any other Newey's Dry Cleaners.
