Nia
Yvette is an accredited brown-belt Nia instructor, endeavouring to share her passion for the soulful movement of Nia with the Ballina region.'I have been looking for something in my life to bring back the joy of movement for some time now. When I walked into my first Nia class I felt like I had come home to joy. My body was simply embracing the movements with such ease, although at times I was in no way doing what the class was.
What really is so amazing about Nia is that this is the total truth of the experience; we are free to let our bodies move in a way that it is most comfortable and this idea is embraced by the system.
From a body racked with pain, Nia has helped me transform into a woman whose body literally smiles with each move it makes.
I feel compelled to share my experience with with the world; the freedom in not only body, but in mind and soul that the practice of Nia opens up to an individual is overwhelming.
It certainly seems to me to be a healing process in all aspects: physical, mental and spiritual.'
