Nicholls Air was contracted to install a solar system on our house, they werent the cheapest but gave us the best sales pitch which we gullibly believed. The agreed date of install came, no installers arrived and nobody had the courtesy to call and advise prior to or on install day. I called to see what was going on, they almost seemed to have no knowledge of the install and rebooked for 7 days later. On date of install they failed to install a component which was included in contract which was executed some 6-8 weeks prior and gave us the spill that there were none in stock, this maybe the case if you try buy something the day prior to install and not organise whats needed in advance. I paid them the majority of the contract with a balance left outstanding until such time they complete install which was completed only after their accounts department was hounding me for balance of invoice and i advised them that the install isnt complete so they finalized the install ...read more
Specifically wanted a quote to repair 2 split system units, not a sales pitch on new install, was assured before service call this would be fine, confirmed in advance and notes written. Serviceman was 30 minutes late (first booking of the day) and hadn't read the notes. Told me I should just buy new ones. Reiterated I wanted diagnostics and a quote on repair before deciding on anything. Paid service fee. Two weeks later, no contact from Nicholls so called and was told that quote was impossible because internal serial number was not displayed. But that it would be "five or six grand". Called manufacturer (Daikin), and obtained relevant serial numbers in about 5 minutes. Called Nicholls again and was promised a refund. Another week goes by with no contact. Call again to be told that a supervisor thinks differently and there will be no refund. And still no quote. Furious with the poor service and lack of ethics from a company that actively markets itself as trustworthy.
