I went to get my hair cut and coloured. I wanted to go from a a dark blonde/light brown to platinum. When I went in the colourist told me that as I had previously had it coloured darker in some places so it wouldn't get to platinum first try which was fine. The finished colour was pretty orange and they were so rushed they only left the toner in for about 5 minutes, after washing the first one out after about 2 minutes. Also the colourist was really rough when bleaching my hair - they were pulling the hair really hard outwards which hurt, and then flinging the bits with bleach on them carelessly around so I got quite a bit of bleach on my face. They were ridiculously overbooked - all stylists and colourists seemed anxious and rushed and there was no time to develop a rapport with the person doing your hair. My cut was ok so that was a saving grace. Not a very long head massage (like 2 mins) and also because they were so busy I had to sit at the basin while they put ...read more
Unfortunately I had a terrible experience with a cut that I had to go back the next day to get fixed as it was so bad and got told by the stylist I rushed him and tried to blame my usual hairdresser! My usua hairdresser had to then save that haircut and showed me the back of what the Noddy's stylist did and it was awful clear line across the back where he put a layer in and hacked the front of my hair off. Will never go back even for a blow dry.
They are crowned as the so called best hair dresser, but really, no Australian hair salon is any good and neither are they.
The only good thing about it is that they (the trainees?) give awesome head massages during the hair wash. Other than that, nothing good to tell.
Compared to European hair salons, Noddys or any other Aussie hair salon just can't compete with European quality.
Not to mention the price, $70 for a standard cut, seriously, wtf!?
If you pay $40 in Europe you will get indeed value for money. I went to my hairdresser in Belgium today and they were amazed by the crappy cut Noddys gave me.
The good thing about Noddys is that they at least wash your hair and the friendly personnel. Didn't experience that with other hair dressers Down Under (hair wash and friendliness) which is extremely weird!
Really, really fabulous salon. I've used two different colourists (Amanda and Lee) and two different cutters and they all did an amazing job. All of the stylists are attentive without being annoying and very talented at their work. I walk out of Noddy's feeling gorgeous and looking pretty awesome too!
