Noisette Boulangerie Patisserie Chocolaterie
Decadent display of breads, cakes and pastriesBaguettes, macarons, mini desserts, a range of specialty greads including sourdough batards and good coffee make this Parisian bakery a favourite among locals in the busy Bay Street strip. Owner chef David Menard's experience and attention to detail is evident in all of products but in particular the delicate desserts and exquisite macarons.
I was here for the first time after hearing about this bakery for a while. Been a Monday it had quite a number of people for an afternoon coffee break. I ordered a hot chocolate, late, and a few cakes from the almond crossient, chocolate eclair and a box of florentins all slightly over $30, on the premium end however the cakes was simply divine. my hot chocolate was bit cold, overall veryt pleased with what they had to offer and friendly service.
noisette bakery does the best ever olive bread, when one of my local shops stopped stocking it i tried heaps of others, but none even come close! it's so moist and stays fresh for days, freezeable and packed with large kalmata olives and a bargain at $5.50 for a medium sized loaf or long baguette. Their walnut bread is also beautiful. contact the bakery at mulgrave (not open to public) and they will let you know of any cafes/shops in your area stocking/using their bread (if you dont live near Port melbourne bakery open to public) and you can call them and ask them to order it in for you regularly. i live in Glen Waverley and Atrium cafe at the World Vision head office does it for me weekly. my kids adore it and so do i, and i dont like oives!
Absolutely love this cafe! It's so cute and unassuming on the main street of Port Melbourne. There are so many gorgeous french pastries and sweets to keep you occupied for so long that you start thinking about swapping lunch for dessert so you can try as many things as possible. I'm glad sense prevailed and I decided to get a baguette though, because it would have to have been one of the best baguettes I've had. The bread was amazing and a good part of our time spent in the cafe was dedicated to praising said bread! You can tell the cafe has a loyal following as one after another, regular customers seemed to pile in asking for their 'usual'. Not an overly huge cafe, Noisette provides a casual, yet warm atmosphere, and the staff are all very friendly and happy looking. Definitely one to check out!
