One of the great things about wandering around random places is that you end up finding pubs like this one. Okay, while it doesn’t make it to the top of my list, there is still quite a lot of charm about the place. I found that the staff were really friendly, and the interior décor was really nice, particularly some of the art hanging on the walls. The other thing was that they had a good selection of beers, and while that can make it difficult to decide at times, it is good to have that choice when it comes to beers. Oh, and the outdoor dining area is really nice as well.
This pub is trying to be too many things & does none of them well. There are TV's everywhere competing with bad commercial radio music, food, pool table, keno, trivia & pokies - all in one big tasteless room (apart from the pokies). It is a sensory disaster not a cool character filled bar that Annandale craves. This beautiful old building deserves so much more but the internal fit out is devoid of character & looks & feels more like an RSL with a bazaar mismatch of tasteless modern furniture (soft chairs & cushions, carpet, aluminium tools & tables - did I mention RSL (an internal fountain would work well in here). I hope somebody saves this place as it urgently needs major surgery. Is is open late though if you're drunk enough
Hello.
Went there for lunch yesterday. Had the chicken schnitzel (Wich was on the special board) wich seems a little bit dry. I wouldn't of had it if it was full price. Not that packed for a midday on a sunday. Dinning area is nice. The whole hotel seems new and nice. The only area that hasn't been renovated it seems is the Beer Garden. Which a plus or a not so plus. There is a vegetarian options on the menu....like Spinach Pie and Vegetarian Lasagne. Daily lunch Specials. Music is nice.
Seems like a friendly soft of Pub.
Two huge TVs that prove terribly distracting and constantly play sport, sport and more sport. Quite horrible. There is a single pool table. Food is pretty reasonable but not restaurant quality. Only noticeably nice thing about the place is the open atmosphere; lots of glass and light. They also have those little anti theft bag clips under the tables - most appreciated. Wont be writing home to Mum about it but bearable for Sunday arvo drinks.
