Northland Shopping Centre
2-50 Murray Rd
Preston, VIC, 3072
Well, as is my habit to review as many things as possible, here is a bit on my local shopping centre (or at least was my local shopping centre until I moved). Okay, the only way to get here by public transport is by bus, which is annoying because the buses tend to stop running after about 9:30 pm, which means you can get a little stranded if you come for the late night movie without a car. Still, it has pretty much everything under one roof, and a large homemaker centre across the road. They recently added an outdoor food area, which includes Grill Kings of New York (which I quite liked). They show most of the latest movies in the cinemas, so I would make the occasional trek down here to see that pointless blockbuster. Hey, if you are lucky you might even get to see some kid being marched out of here between a couple of cops.
Just Ripe at Northland is a fantastic grocery store. These days I am able to get most of my shopping done here, and just pick up whatever little extra things I need from Coles. Overall I find Northland is highly underestimated, it has KMart, Target, Myer, and lots more, you can easily get anything you need here or at the homewares centre / Bunnings / Masters, just across the road. #reviewtowin
Northland is great after its renovation and expension of car parks on all the sides of the complex. There is a huge selection of car parks, under cover, on the roof or general outside car park. The selection of shops, cafes, delis, supermarkets is amazing! Everyhting under one roof and so easy to get to. I like Northland because it's on a medium size when it comes to shopping center sizes. It's not massive like Chadstone but also not tiny like local Plazas. I enjoy just a stroll through the center when I'm not shopping but when I am, it is a good retail therapy!
