Went here to get my clutch done which has no problems. But on pick up was told there was massive carbon build up in my dump pipe and turbo housing? Unsure what they were doing in my turbo housing in the first place while only doing my clutch.
Went home to investigate further and checked the whole exhaust and couldn't find any of this carbon build up they spoke of and also had a look in the turbo housing myself.
Giving me false information to get more work from me ?
He bad mouthed other companies which I thought did a good job and then advised that no one else should look at my cruiser except his company from now on. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
Hello, Took 2006 hdjr to Notrthside 4x4 for major work, Being intercooler, Unichip, Shocks springs, Bullbar winch etc.
At the end of the day if you want experienced attention to detail quality work, Go to them.
If you want Bling, Bulls#it, And slick slims, You have many choices of other places to go that may have bright neon signs out the front, But deliver nothing but headaches.
That pretty much sums it up
Tony
Recently took our 4.2td patrol in to be dyno tuned. Upon pick up, 3 days later, we were told the injector pump needed replacing and therefore they couldn't tune it. We were still charged for the dyno tune and the car has come back to us worse than it was before, wouldnt recommend them.
Hi there! I don't remember this job but I'm sure you will find that you were charged a 'diagnostic fee' and not a tuning fee. When a vehicle is on the dyno and has faults, it takes significant time and effort to accurately diagnose the issues that the car is having. Unfortunately we cannot give free advice and diagnosis of every car that is put on our dyno (a very expensive piece of equipment that each vehicle adds wear and tear to, and has significant running costs). As I mentioned, is it also time consuming for our technicians.
I will also add that if the injector pump is failing, a tune can not be completed. Your vehicle obviously entered our workshop with this problem, and without rectifying it, there is little we can do.
I would like you to please contact us with your rego and invoice number in order to validate your claims. I'm unable to find any record of a job remotely similar to yours within the 3 month prior to this review.
Took a 2005 4.2 turbo diesel Nissan Patrol here to get injectors and major service done.
1- Customer service was shocking - they quoted us 2 days work originally. Twice, when they said they would be finished, we drove 50km to get there to be told that the car wouldn't be finished until tomorrow.
2- They changed the wheel bearings, two months later one of the bearings collapsed due to lack of grease and over tightening of the retaining nut. This cost us another $1000 to fix as the bearing had welded itself to the stub axle.
3- They told us we needed a new fuel pump. One of the workers quoted me $2000 for a rebuild, the management then walked in and right in front of me quoted my partner $2800 for the same rebuild.
We will not be using these company again. They may be taking on too much work and not doing the best job they can.
The matter was resolved between the customer and management when it was found that the vehicle had been driven through water which caused the bearing to fail prematurely; due to no fault of Northside 4x4. On a second occasion the bearings were actually removed, cleaned and repacked with grease again due to water contamination. The customer did not pay for these repairs. At Northside 4x4, the staff constantly go above and beyond to help their customers.
