I took my wife here for her birthday.
I booked an ocean/escarpment room on level 8.
While it looks a little dated from the outside, the room was fantastic with great ocean views. We just relaxed on the balcony, reading and drinking, and of course, walked along the beach until dinner time.
Food was very good, room excellent, but the best part was the hospitality of the staff.
Lovely location. Make sure you book an ocean view room though or you defeat the purpose of staying here and may as well just be in any boring city location. We had a wonderful weekend on the water at the Novotel, Wollongong. They looked after us beautifully, and the hotel was well appointed and luxurious enough to allow for a relaxing time.
I am writing this review to complain about the food at the so called seafood buffet at Winjamers on Friday night 1/8/08. My wife and I don’t get to go out for dinner very often so when we do choose a restaurant we expect good quality food and service also value for money.
The prawns were tasteless the calamari was not fresh I suspect it was the frozen variety which I did not expect at such a well known establishment.
