"Jack of all trades; Master of none" is the phrase that comes to mind when I think of the evening spent at Nut N Fancy. The menu caters for any kind of appetite, from Surf n Turf to Strawberry Sundaes. The only problem is that everything is so, very mediocre. A group of us stopped in for dessert and even the ice cream was a let down. My one scoop of choc-mint was icey and hard and didn't make me want seconds. The waffles were soggy, the coffee, burnt. Nothing good seemed to be happening at this place.
I had viewed the website for the restaurant and it looked great. I was looking forward to a great big breakfast after seeing the website ads.
I went to the store on a Friday morning at 9 and strange enough, the store was not open. My boyfriend and I were very disappointed because we were looking forward to the big breakfast and had to go elsewhere. The store said breakfast starts at 8.30am on Thurs to Sun but we were there at 9 and the store said closed.
Disappointing.
This little cafe boats the most impressive and sizable desserts on Church Street! If you're brave enough to tackle their sundaes you will leave extremely satisfied and full. Their dessert menu includes pancakes and waffles and some of the most delicious flavoured ice creams including Raffaello and Tim Tam gelato! If you're game to handle the calories, there is also a deep-fried Snickers bar on offer! Their all-day breakfast never fails to please and they are also licensed and offer beer, spirits and cocktails. Prices are extremely reasonable with a big breakfast generally around the $15 mark. A perfect place to go for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and cocktails (any time of the day really!).
