O Bar and Dining
Great VIEWS. AMAZING COCKTAILS. How about the Stracciatella with caramelised butternut pumpkin, walnuts and smoked avocado with baby rocket leaves, granola and tomato sorbet. It's a savoury dish that lots of smooth and moist textures. I like the crunchy granola bits at the bottom.
Emerging from the lift into this darkened space your eyes are instantly captivated by the panoramic city view. It doesn't stop there though - with Restaurant Atelier's old chef at the helm, the food is amazing. Innovative cocktails are in keeping with this high altitude location, as is warm, hospitable service.
When my Melburnian cousin said she was coming up to Sydney, for the weekend, I racked my brains on where we should dine last Friday night. I wanted somewhere with a view, but also great food and service. As I have mentioned before, a lot of restaurants with a view rely on that, so don't seem to make much effort elsewhere. In the end, I chose O Bar and Dining.
I had a bad experience at O Bar & Dining last June, during Vivid, when they were rushed off their feet. A restaurant of this calibre should be able to cope with the crowds on a Tuesday night, but having eaten there plenty of times before, with no issues, I decided it was time to give them another shot. From the moment you walk in, the 360 views of Sydney are breathtaking, as you find yourself on one of the top levels of Australia Square.
Yes, it's fine dining, but no, don't expect tiny little bite sized portions, the food served as pretty liberal and to die for.
