We were trying so hard, not to watch the couple next to us, but we just couldnt stop.
I kept trying to causally lean in closer so I could hear what they were saying. You see, they were on their first date. They were nervous. He was trying to play it cool and she was fidgeting with her hair while trying to act casual. When he went to the bathroom, she snatched her bag out from underneath the table quickly, firing off texts to friends (?) then she carefullybutquickly re-applied her red lipstick. I attended a work wrap up lunch meeting in the Ocean Room private dining area upstairs but unfortunately the fabulous views were totally blocked by one of the huge cruise ships that was docked at the time.
However, the food was fantastic and the event a success, so all good.
Will have to come back to take advantage of the view another time...
Had a great night with friends in this classy modern japanese inspired restaurant. The view is extremely impressive with uninterrupted views of the Opera House and the glistening waters of Sydney harbour. The staff warmly greeted us and took our coats and jackets. As I entered I was struck by the beautiful bamboo ceiling sculpture wrapping around the front bar.
The food was amazing, I had the smoked trout which is presented very impressively with a glass dome and a 'test' tube of dressing.
If you are looking to have a nice night out, celebrate a special occasion or impress someone over dinner, this is a great choice!
I had the pleasure of going to this restaurant for my Mums birthday a few weeks ago. we had a front window table and the views were great! service was very attentive even after it began to get busy. We loved the green spiced calamari and crab tace for a starter. We then shared the most delicious king prawns for an entree. Mains were also very tasty, we had the duck and the pork belly. My Mum used her Entertainment card and we received $40 off the bill. We will definitely be returning to this great restaurant!
