"Old Mate Fencing" was established in 1998. After moving to Sydney from country N.S.W in 1996 the owner operator Damian Makim spent two years on the Northern Beaches learning the art of brushwood fencing. Disillusioned with brush fencing and the effort it took to build a fence that in most cases would last only eight years before needing to be repaired he started a timber fencing business and called it "Old Mate Fencing" a phrase commonly used when referring to someone.
"Old Mate Fencing" is a small but successful business and relies extensively on word of mouth referral. The installers used in the business have been with the company for several years and although one or two may look like the wild man from Borneo this does not reflect in their workmanship and their ability to do quality work.
The company has built a strong relationship over the past ten years with Hudson Building Supplies at Brookvale. This timber merchant would with out doubt be the best supplier of fencing grade timber on the Northern Beaches supplying quality grade treated pine and hardwood materials.
"Old Mate Fencing" endeavor to give each client the quality and service that is synonymous with the name.

Really disappointing service - the new pool fence was dumped on front lawn the day prior (Sunday) with no notice and they didn't even bother to come to the door (which was open) to introduce themselves - I had to go and ask who they were. Upon digging the hole to put the fence in they dug through the pipes leading out of the pool which meant we had to empty half of our pool to fix it. We waited a day (with no fencing which wasn't ideal with young kids and a dog) for a plumber which they coordinated to fix it. The existing pool posts were just ripped off leaving very jagged rusty metal sticking out of the grass about 5cm which my husband had to fix. We then had to pay for the pool to be refilled and the salt levels adjusted again. No discount, no great apologies and a very poor service. I would not recommend them.
I am so happy by using Old Mate for cover my garden area.Earlier i faced so much problems related to my garden area privacy then my friend suggest me to use Old Mate Fencing for cover garden area.Initially i thought it will not work longer time, but now 5 years gone and still the timber they use for old mate is very tough.
