Old Whisloca Cottage
The rugged peaks of Ben Lomond National Park loom behind this large working farm with cattle, sheep, crops and forests. Its a peaceful place to relax, play tennis or fish for trout on the North Esk river. At dusk native animals emerge from the bush - kangaroos, wallabies, possums and Tasmanian devils. On winter nights, snuggle up to the crackling wood fire to warm up.Your comfortable cottage is a good base to explore the ski fields and bush walks in the national park and a short drive from the historic village of Evandale with its fine antique shops, stained glass workshop, cafe's and restaurants and the chance of a bargain at the famous Sunday morning market.

We stayed here 7 & 8 June 14 (Queens Birthday long weekend). My wife and I, and two children and my daughters friend weren't sure what to expect as we had previously only stayed in Launceston. We loved the experience, I'm sure this wonderful quaint cottage will meet anybodys expectations if you are seeking somewhere to relax, in a quiet country/farm setting. Our kids enjoyed going for walks and visiting Mt Ben Lomond (15min drive from the cottage). We were pleasantly surprised that it had everything we needed (self-contained). It possesses a lovely modern main bedroom with en-suite which has floor heating. There is another bedroom with two bunk beds (sleeping four), and a nook near the lounge room with another bunk bed (sleeping two). The beds were firm and very comfortable.
