Everyone in the area talks about this restaurant as THE venue for great seafood. You definitely need to book as it fills up every night. We ordered the seafood platter and loved it. It is market price but on our visit it cost around $110.
Fresh sashimi, prawns, oysters, scampi, and served with hot chips and a fresh salad.
Would definitely recommend it as a place to go when you are in port Douglas.
On The Inlet, and its "bucket of prawns & beer" special, is a Port Douglas institution. George the Groper was a no-show when we visited, but the bar is still a perfect place to while away the hours on a sunny afternoon. Genuine craft beer makes a welcome appearance on the drinks list (currently featuring Murray's Angry Man pale ale, brewed in Port Stephens).
Great and funky Port Douglas restuarant, on a decking overlooking the Inlet (hence the name) a great spot to spend a Sat or Sun arvo watching the Quicksilver and Posiedon boats coming in and out from the reef. The 'Groper' fish usually shows up to entertain the crowds also. They have bands (good ones) often in the late arvo.
