The Opium Den is a popular gay and lesbian venue in Collingwood, Melbourne. The ambience is warm and cosy with the ruby red décor and statues. There is also a delightful courtyard out the back with fairy lights. This bar is known for its live entertainment which includes drag queen and king performances, DJs spinning their records and live music acts. Accommodation is also available on site if you want to party and sleep on the same premises.

One of my favourite places in Melbourne! Great interiors with Asian and Chinese motifs and designs and really lovely staff. There's a little outside courtyard for smokers that is sheltered and accommodation upstairs, with a modest but delicious menu of meals. Sunday nights are the best - open mic with lots of performers doing cabaret and musical songs. A great place to visit!
This bar is fittingly decked-out in Chinese memorabilia, creating an interesting, oriental atmospher. Regular live shows are featured on the stage, and a comfortable beer garden is offered out the back, complete with snarling Chinese dragons and potted plants. The bar staff are friendly and the drinks are reasonably prices.
