OPSM Geelong
I've been attending this opsm close to a decade now as I've been short sighted since primary school. Booked my yearly appointment today and to my surprise on arrival i was requested to pay a $50 "fitting fee" as i wear contact lenses. I questioned it of course but to be honest the lady attending to me on this day was of absolutely no help at all. She simply repeated it was a fitting fee and was not covered by medicare. Being a full time uni student i was not prepared to pay $50 for a test i could get done anywhere else for free. E.g specsavers. Not to mention 6 months ago, i had the exact same test done FOR FREE and the last 3 years too. Even so i dont see how wearing contacts and glasses differ for eyetests for a prescrption update. It may possibly be a misunderstanding but i cant see how it could be, to be honest. Will not be returning.
