Optus

I received great service from Leo at Optus in Karrinyup. I'm very happy with my new mobile and Leo really looked after my every need. He explained everything to me and set everything up for me so I could use my phone straight away.

Absolutely incompetent staff. I never realised just how important it was to choose the particular telecommunications outlet you buy a phone from. What I am finding out now is that each store is basically an autonomous franchise. This means that if a particular store stuffs up (and you would not believe just how many times Karrinyup has stuffed up!) there is not much you can do about it - Optus can't control their outlets and there is no conflict resolution process within the company. So you're stuck with an expensive two year contract with a faulty phone and ridiculously poor network coverage and you just have to suck it up.
