This is another one of those lovely coffee shops that you find scattered around Surry Hills. It isn’t on one of the major streets so it doesn’t get all that crowded, or at least it wasn’t all that crowded when I stopped by more a morning cup of tea. The staff were pretty good, and the lighting was great. They also have some decent selections on their menu (though I wasn’t all that hungry at the time). It is certainly a place that you should check out, especially if you want to spend a relaxing morning reading a book.
Constantly craving brunch from Orto! Their Southern Fried Chicken Benni is to-die-for!! Never expected fried chicken to work in an Eggs Benedict dish but it works so well! The runny eggs with the crunchy chicken are prefect together. Also recommend their triple-cooked chips!
The first time I went, I thought the food was amazing. The second time I wasn't as impressed and the service was atrocious both times. The fried chicken eggs benny is one of their famous stapples but the 2nd time I found the flavour a bit off compared to my first time. They usually have great daily specials but be patient with their staff who always seem a bit frazzled and busy.
part of the Surry Hills go to guide for brunch... big on quality, taste and service. Warmth high ceilings, big windows and homegrown garden deco (think vegetable patch, wheelbarrows, spades and garden trinkets to adorn the airy cafe) this place will have you feeling toasty even on the wet cold drizzly days.
I was stoked to find out my new workplace was around the corner from Orto Trading Co, giving me the perfect excuse to swing by for my morning coffee and occasionally some brunch too. It's relaxed vibes (especially on a weekday) is perfect for a little productivity plus the coffee is top notch. It goes without saying that the food there is delicious too - try the southern fried chicken benni! and don't forget to check out their daily sweets for your afternoon tea!
