Attached to Hotel Realm is Ostani, an expansive restaurant and bar with outdoor and indoor seating options. Although it is very spacious it does get busy, as with all city hot spots. The hoisin duck pizza was great, ruined only by a giant fried egg on top which I didn't think added to the dish but if you're crazy about eggs then it would. We sat here and had teas and coffees, lunch and then an afternoon drink. A perfect place for people watching, relaxing in the sun and hanging out.
The food (mostly) tastes quite good. But the service is slow and they don't care for the clients' needs of being able to split a bill (It's not hard!). Some of my friends didn't enjoy the food, but on average it was decent. The portions are small, which makes it an expensive place also.
Ostani is only kept afloat by the hotel it is part of. If it had to stand for itself, it would fall over. I booked a table for a work group and pre-ordered to ensure that we could get back propmtly. Ostani made no effort to utilise the pre-order and it was almost 30 minutes before any food came out. Most of the food did taste nice, but many of my friends commented that some of it was quite poor and showed no value for money. A salad that was meant to feature beetroot had next to none, all the meals were on the small side. The staff looked a bit lost and don't know how to split a bill and can get abbrasive if you ask to pay separtately. They need to look at the service features that the customers actually want. So service is slow, they don't read their bookings, the food is meagre, but most of the food tastes decent and the setting is chic. I wouldn't go back if I was on a lunch break or felt particularly hungry.
