A very disappointing experience. The restaurant was busy, but no indication of wait times was given. Several tables around us complained as they had waited over an hour for meals, not acceptable with kids hungry waiting to eat. Our mains took over an hour also. During our wait time the table was not cleared or more drinks offered, had to ask staff to chase up our meals, only then was a complimentary drink offered. Manager is the invisible man, only appearing to speak to complaining diners. Staff trying their best with no direction. Save your time/money and go elsewhere.
Visited Cairns 10-13/5/17 - invited our daughter & her husband + 3 children as our guests as had been previous year & was great. Very disappointed with food & service. Steak was so tough it could not be eaten. Beef on top of salad was so stringy & tough - left it on plate. Daughter' meal Caeser Salad was forgotten & served after our meals were done. Still charged for salad????. Not going back!!!
We invited some guests to join us for a main meal at OJ last night, and we were disappointed with the outcome. We had dined here last year and could not fault the service and meals. However last night was not the same. We ordered chicken and steak meals, and had to wait an hour before they came out. The chicken dish came with half an avocado and sauce, the portion was so small and thin that the avocado half completely covered it. The steak meals were no better, small portions of overcooked and grisly steaks came to the table. My wife commented to the wait staff that the best part of her meal was the mash potatoes. All meals were priced around the $30 mark, and not worth the money. When paying the bill, my wife produced a table 52 card for the restaurant only to get a cold glare from the employee as if it was a pain.
Not good OJ's lift your game.
Went here for lunch on our second day in Cairns on a recent holiday because we wanted to try crocodile, kangaroo and possibly emu.
Were slightly disappointed by the lack of menu choices compared to our local OJ down in Melbourne, the menu was the half size with only one dish boasting roo and croc which was an entree of skewers. We had them anyway and they were absolutely delicious but so small, they really need to have more options on the menu of this great local produce.
I had a bushranger salad which was very tasty and my partner enjoyed his favorite Wagyu Beef burger. He said the burger was not quite the same as was in Melbourne, the bread slightly burnt and the ingredients changed slightly.
I was also disappointed that I could not have a refreshing cocktail with my meal as they only had one wait staff working the whole restaurant and wasn't trained to make them.
