Lovely, welcoming people at 'Outsider', excellent breakfast yesterday. Captains Flat is a New South Wales jewel hamlet. As Lou Reed penned, "such a perfect day"

I've been to Outsider Cafe many times because I lived at Captains Flat. I have always thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Servings are BIG BIG BIG!!! It's a great cafe with fantastic food and amazing artwork to look at or buy. For a small town with a population of less than 500 we are fortunate to have The Outsider. People come from kilometers around to enjoy the great food and the warm hospitality from Friday to Sunday. The Big Breakfast would have to be my favourite. Chris and Gunther do a great job.

Best Cafe this side of Broome. I love Gunther's artwork, and the good quality family sized portions at good prices prepared by Christine are awesome. Go out there starving - its worth the 40 minute drive from Canberra to leave full and content.



I rate the Chicken Livers for Breakfast, and the Roast Pork for lunch.

My wife rates the Pancakes and Bacon for breakfast, and the pancake stack any other time of the day.

The berry whip milk drink is also a meal in itself. I love this place.
