Mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a form of oxygen therapy that raises the levels of oxygen in the body's blood plasma. Increased oxygen in the plasma leads to higher amounts of oxygen being delivered to the body's
tissues, organs and brain. The therapy allows additional amounts of oxygen to be dissolved into the blood plasma and enter the tissues directly.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy before and after surgery helps to heal post surgery wounds up to 75% faster. Breathing pure oxygen under hyperbaric (pressurised) conditions effectively drives more O2 into the tissues to promote faster repair. This treatment can decrease infection as well as the amount of scar tissue, bruising and swelling visible after surgery.
Additional conditions for mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy may also include skin allergies, chronic fatigue syndrome, circulatory problems, stress, headaches, eczema, psoriasis, sporting injuries and recovery, and it may be effective as an adjuvant therapy with clients dealing with sleep disorders.
