P.J O'Brien's Irish pub in South bank, Melbourne is far by one of the favourites amongst the state. Open every day, with different live entertainment each night, from soloists and party bands to DJs. This bar has a bistro with a range of food, nothing out of the ordinary for a big pub, options of meat, pasta, pizza and the list goes on. Most famous for the selection of beers, there are also a impressive selection of wines for those who aren't into the Irish Guinness.

Traditional little Irish Pub located on South Bank. I went with a friend during a weeknight which the venue seemed a little quiet. Fast but I would not say friendly service, serving all the usual range of beers and lagers at South Bank prices. Pub meals were available. Felt the venue lacked a bit of atmosphere, but would get a reasonable trade from the hotel patrons nearby.
Irish Pubs are springing up all over the world at an alarming rate in the most unlikely of places. Crown Casino is no exception. PJ O'Briens is a fun place to have a few drinks and a snack and you can easily forget the Casino complex noise and bustle inside. I did find it a bit stifling at times as there are no external windows but the atmosphere and friendly service makes up for it.
