Whether youre popping in for a quick drink with friends, or want to organise a big group celebration of some sort, Paddo Bowls is an excellent venue. Ive only ever played bowls here once for a friends birthday, which was really good fun, but you dont need to get involved in the sport to have a good time. On other occasions, Ive been for group events in the function room, which to be honest I found a little disappointed. If you can, I think its best to just have your group out amongst the action of the main bar. Drinks are really well priced and the service is very good as well. You can also get party food platters to share with your friends the standard wedges and other deep-fried delights are the only things Ive tried, but it was decent food and keeps the hungry masses satisfied.
Paddington Bowls is the perfect place for a big group of people, because it is big. I have been here for work Christmas parties as well as for regular drinks with friends. If you are wanting to watch a sporting Grand Final then you have found the right place as they have a massive screen to accommodate the viewing of many crazed fans. The best part however is the bowling. You can hire some balls and trundle out to the greens where you will find many other small groups in bare feet occupying their patch of competitive turf. If you havent been bowling before then it is well worth a try as it is great fun and is perfect for a bit of competitive bonding. The kitchen also does cheap and simple meals which will set you back anywhere between $15 - $20. Being an RSL, if you live within 7kms you will need to become a member which costs about $20 and gets you a discount on drinks.
