I would call this a 'railway' pub namely because it is next to the Camberwell Railway station, which means to had pop in here either after you got off the train, or just before you jump on the train. Mind you, it isn't actually any good as a pub, and certainly not having the feel of its location. Basically it is one of those suburban pubs with a gaming lounge, a front bar, and a sports bar. They do have live music at times, and it does seem pretty popular (and even has craft beers on tap), however it is really only the front bar that is any good – if you move away from them you basically hit your typical dodgy bar. I'd probably come back here, but only for convenience.
This place is terrible. Went there last week and had the $12 parma. They proclaim it is hand crumbed but they taste weird. The salad was a disgrace - iceberg lettuce, a bit of red onion and 1 slice of tomatoe. My partner had the calamari & prawns and hers came out with the same salad for $25. The carbonara had way too much garlic in it and was barely touched. This place is over priced, poor quality of food and the staff just don't care.
This is our local pub and every time we come I get the schnitzel that comes with vegetables and mashed potatoes, and a side of gravy. After having to repeat my order 3 times to the waitress that was cleary cracking under pressure, I walked away with my partner saying "I bet you we get the wrong order" .. And boy wasn't I right. My plate came to me served with a schnitzel and side of carrot and asparagus only, I said to the waiter that this meal comes with mashed potatoe, and I also had gravy too. After it seemed to much of a hassle for the waiter who obviously didn't know there own menu and what came with what, I had to tell him to forget about it. He then after knowing my order was incomplete and that I was unhappy, said ok and left it at that. I was then left with an incomplete meal which cost me $18.. Just for a schnitzel and a few veggies on the side, not even any gravy. After being a regular who comes here at least once a week, a found this service ...read more

What a change from the old crappy Palace Hotel to now....amazing food, great friendly professional staff, presentation + love the range of beers on tap not your standard ALH pub!
Keep up the good work guys!
