Ivy, Level 1, 330 George St
Sydney, NSW, 2000
This is located on level 1 at The Ivy on George Street. It shares the dining space with Sunee's Thai Canteen as well as you can select from either menu when eating here. It is a very open space and lots of light pouring in. Service isn't too bad but they were a bit distracted (chatting to each other) when we were trying to flag them down to pay the bill. Apart from that they were quite friendly.
We had the Braised Lamb Shank, Pan Roasted Corn Fed Chicken Supreme, and Pan Roasted Barramundi Fillet. The lamb was coming off the bone easily and had a nice topping of crispy sweet potato accompanied by creamy mash. The chicken was tender and not dry at all. It came with a lovely jus. The fish was well cooked and certainly the prettiest looking of the all the plates as it was sitting on a bed of mushy peas.
Overall not bad here at all but service could be sped up a bit and slightly more attentive.
Located in the IVY- you can expect some great food here.
There are actually 2 kitchens, but you can order food from both in the one location. One kitchen specialises in Thai cuisine, while the other has a mix of cuisines like Mexican.
I tried the Mexican quesadilla – it was nice and crunchy! Wish there was more Guac with it though.
But my favourite was from the Thai menu- the grilled chicken with turmeric rice. It was finger-licking good!
The service was great too – we requested table service as the staff members were more than willing.
Located right in the middle of Ivy this place serves a la carte mains of western grill food as well as Thai food.
The food is great but unfortunately the service isn't as you would expect from a merivale establishment. Even though we booked it took them 45 minutes to seat us, they didn't get out bill right and they moved our table mid way through our meal to make room for the clubbers.
The staff were apologetic and gave us a discount on our meal but I wouldn't recommend eating here on a Friday night if you want to enjoy a nice meal with friends as it is just too noisey and busy.
Fun atmosphere inthe Ivy courtyard with streams of light coming through. The service is great, you order at the bar and they bring the food out to you.
Really delcious Thai, a little pricey for lunch at around $20 per person, but it was a nice treat.
Good vibes to enjoy the Sydney sunshine.
