You can't expect the Ritz from a budget motel, but stinky leaking toilet, filthy a/c, dust and cobwebs, frosted freezer and filthy ice trays can't be masked by neatly folded towels (albeit shaggy) and some soapy sachets...not to mention nails sticking up through the table! We needed some ice when my son hurt his arm but both my husband and I were met with sullen shrugs and refusal by the staff. When presented with the grimy ice trays and comments about the room they couldn't muster an apology and didn't show the least interest. Enough said! Best thing is the free internet to write this review.
This motel must have changed hands since these people were there. I found it to be clean, new linens, new towels, clean cups and spoons, I asked about the napthalene and was advised that it is a natural mouse repellant. Personally, I can live with napthalene. It is much better than mice!
Quite possible this is true. Guests we spoke to staying downstairs were quite happy with the cleanliness of their room. Perhaps responsibility for the rooms are shared between two very different parties.
This was the worst stay we had in 12 days of travel. The blankets were dirty, the sheets were stained, the mattress springs were there and the room smelt of napthalene which may have been there to cover up the smell of dog waste from the back of the units. Realised too late to move as reception was closed. It may be off the highway, but traffic noise would have been preferential. Avoid this one - I am sure there are better in West Wyalong. I wish I ad read Hobbie's review before selecting this one!
Although this motel is indeed off the truck route through town, and there was no noise heard from traffic, very little else about this establishment warrants praise. After returning to the room after Dinner, we noticed a large black locust flying in the room. Following it behind the bed revealed a mass of dead grasshoppers - more under the armchair, more under the other bed, more under the fridge. That got us looking in more detail to find the carpet with many stain marks on it, live crawling insects , the shower recess with mould on the glass, tiles, grouting, mugs with tea/coffee rings inside, teaspoons not washed. They assured us that the room had been cleaned fully that morning and had excuses for everything we found. Their claims were clearly untrue as many of the the dead grasshoppers were covered with days' worth of dust/fluff.
