Located across the road from the Westpac Building, this trendy café has some of the best customer service I have seen.
There is a coffee window outside if you want a quick coffee to go – or you can have a seat inside for a healthy breakfast / lunch option.
The wooden décor really builds the atmosphere for this café, as the café is all about being natural.
The coffee is great.
The food is decent too. I had the poached egg on rye (brown rye with avo, fetta, tomatoes and a poached egg). The rye bread was a still hard on the sides- but was perfect everywhere else. The avo was not fresh, it was actually the fake kind. And I was disappointed that there was just 1 egg – I could’ve used another egg. However the food was filling and it was quite a nice breakfast.
What impressed me most was the service. Despite being a café, I felt like I was in a proper restaurant. The staff kept filling my glass of water for me.
I will be back!
Pavel & Co is a new hipster cafe in the city, not too far from Wynyard Station. The cafe is modern but rustic, and has a window booth out front that serves great coffee. Office workers are often seen out front waiting for their daily caffeine fix.
We had a lovely breakfast there before work - the mushroom brioche was delicious and so was the restaurant's modern take of "San Choi Bow": slow cooked pork with neatly cut fresh lettuce to cleanse the palate.
For lunch, a lunch box for $14 is a great choice meat with brown rice and salad. I've tried it with pork and brisket but the chicken option looks great too!
