Pei Modern

Pei Modern occupies occupies half of the space of a super spacious hotel lobby in Four Seasons. The whole place has an old charm atmosphere but the restaurant has obviously added some contemporary elements and art installations to make the place live up to its name.

Despite having servers with uniforms, low light ambiance, and an extensive wine and cocktail list, the place is a little bit of a semi fine dining simply because of the type of dishes they offer.

For entree, the tuna 'prosciutto' with leek ash & pickled watermelon was a fresh, interesting opener. The pork chop was also a nice dish to share for main, although this dish was cooked a little bit in a casual style. The sides and salads were delicious additions. For desserts, they have pumpkin pie or roasted meringue amongst other selections.

The food was quite reasonably priced considering the place and the level of service.

The food is faultless and the presentation is delightful. Portions are decent. The vibe is trendy and after a few drinks at Grain bar .. its a great way to end the evening. I highly recommend the Salt cod croquettes - they are divine.
