Pelican Caravan Park

Relax by the Nambucca River

Pelican Caravan Park features broad river frontage on the Nambucca River. We boast many features including a private boat ramp, jetty and pontoon, pool with wading pool, riverfront camp kitchen and free wifi.

We offer a range of riverfront cabins, standard cabins, riverfront powered sites, powered sites and unpowered sites for guests.

The park has recently been bypassed which has removed the highway noise. Whilst it has always been a beautiful location, we can now add tranquil to the list. If you have stayed in the past and found it too noisy, or been put off by the proximity to the highway, then come and experience the

We travel between Sydney and Brisbane regularly to visit family and friends and have found Pelican Park at Nambucca Heads to be a relaxing half-way stop, often staying longer than anticipated because of excellent fishing.

The cabins have always presented clean and comfortable and the owners, Rod and Elanora, are courteous and provide excellent service.

Being pet friendly, our little mate is always excited and recognises the park as his home-away-from-home.

Nambucca Heads has very good amenities, attractions and fishing from our front door, makes Pelican Park a perfect holiday destination.

Thank you Rod and Elanora for an enjoyable stay at very reasonable rates.

What a contrast, perhaps you all need to hear from a regular with a bit of a history? We discovered the Pelican around six years ago when I unexpectedly got some last minute time off at Christmas, and was lucky enough to find that the new owners had a vacancy. The place looked rugged to say the least (that was then!), but THE AMENITIES WERE SPOTLESS (with a real bathtub), there were plenty of ABSOLUTE RIVER FRONT sites and THE POOL WAS PRISTINE. We thought we had landed in heaven when we heard their budget prices. Days in the pool, sunset with fish and chips on the riverbank, enough cash left over for a couple of upmarket nights out, our well behaved dogs for company, time to tackle a good book or beat the old man at scrabble, yes this place is a little chunk of ...read more

I stayed here in December 2010 over Christmas for a "short break". After spending two nights here i decided to extend it to a week. Apart from the fact that they allow pets which is a HUGE incentive, it is a lovely, clean park located right on the river. They advertise the fishing is excellent so i gave it a try and bagged myself a nice feed of flathead.

The cabins are spotless and very clean and after complimenting the lovely managers about their cleanliness when i sadly had to leave they informed me they have recently upgraded all the cabins.

Courteous staff who are happy to go the extra mile for you with a convenient location.

Will definitely return with my two dogs in the future. its hard enough to find a place to have your dogs but with the quality of this park included it will become my interstate holiday destination.

Thank you very much to the staff for a wonderful week.

Well what can I say about this park. My family and I stayed here for a night as a stopover, and if you want a budget/basic park then THIS is the park for you. For 2 adults and a 5 and 6 year old children plus a small dog it was $73 for the night, which at the time I thought great price. WELL after staying there I can NOW understand why it was that price. We checked in and went to our ensuite cabin, upon opening the door the musty smell hit you, and I reckon there could of even been a tad smell of dog urine lingering in the carpet. As the evening came to a close we went to turn our fluro light on in the main bedroom BUT it didn't work, and nor did the 2 bedside lights that were both missing bulbs. So then decided to turn the fluro light on in the walkthrough area where the kids slept, well guess what that fluro didn't work either, nor did the "3" lamps above each bed as they to had no bulbs also. So called the manager who was quick to come down to at least fix ...read more
