Cradle Mountain Lodge provides the closest accommodation to spectacular Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park. Set discreetly in the wilderness are 86 private timber cabins, ranging from contemporary Pencil Pine Cabins through to luxurious King Billy Suites. Each provides all the modern comforts you would expect and some are appointed with spa baths. The King Billy Suites and Spa Suites have king-sized beds and can accommodate up to three guests with an additional rollaway bed. There are also family cabins, some with spas and one with disability access, sleeping up to five people. A variety of casual through to formal dining options are available. Be tempted by the delectable tastes of local Tasmanian cheeses over a glass of wine, followed by a romantic dinner. Around Cradle Mountain Lodge there are more than 20 walking trails. A thoroughly enjoyable stay at Cradle Mountain Lodge ...
HIGHLIGHTS: (1) Entering the cabin from freezing cold to find it warm with the fire already started, (2) Waking up to snow blanketing the balcony & (3) Spotting wildlife outside the cabin.
LOWLIGHTS: None really, except I wished I had booked into Waldheim Spa earlier (it was booked out).
BATHROOM: Spacious with both shower & spa bath. Loved the heated towel rails.
KITCHEN: Basic tea-making facilities.
DINING: Loved the Highlanders Restaurant - had dinner there for 3 consecutive nights.
LOCATION: National Park only a short drive away.
SERVICE: Extremely friendly & helpful at all times.
VERDICT: Recommended ++
