A top quality hotel. We last stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Canberra, but really prefer this place as its super modern. We had a Premier Room, very large and well appointed and the room was very quiet - perfect. The front desk staff were friendly and helped with local restaurant bookings and taxis - nothing was too much trouble. The complimentary breakfast in the bar was great too, simple continental breakfast, more than enough. Free papers in the lobby and modern designer decor were a big plus. There is no pool or gym (but you can go up the road to Fitness First with a free pass) but if you like boutique hotels, with modern decor to suit your uber chic lifestyle then this is the place in Canberra. Only weird thing is the crazy mini bar which automatically charges you when you take something from it - like having your own vending machine in the room, but at standard crazy mini bar prices...
I could not believe that a boutique hotel of such a high standard was now located in Canberra. The foyer blew me away. Staff were attentive and friendly. Rooms were of a very high standard with a modern twist (Bang and Olfsen TV and sound system). Very comfy beds and pillows--had a great nights sleep.
When staying you must pre book the resturant or there will be a wait. Food was brilliant as was wine selection.
I will be staying here from now on when in Canberra, as opposed to the Hyatt. The Diamant is a very intimate property that is a nice retreat after a days work. Cannot recommend this property enough!!!
