Perseverance

The place has been a staple of Fitzroy forever, but with the recent improvements it really feels like a welcoming venue, the staff are friendly, always look like they are having a good time and will go out of their way to help you with whatever issues I had. As for the security, i really feel for as they have to make the hard decisions but they are never unreasonable. Drinks are reasonably priced and the addition of the outside bar and marque makes the beer garden more accessible. I miss the 90's only music on a Friday but am still willing to have a boogie. Overall this is a place that I have many great memories of and would love others to come share them

While the building looks like a pub (and I believe at one time it was a pub) these days it is basically a night club, though for a night club it does tend to open early, though when I say early I mean after work and not on weeknights (though I believe it is open on Thursdays, but Thursday is technically not a school night). Anyway, the bar itself is pretty cool, and tends to be fairly quiet in the early evening. I have been past later in the night but there tends to be lines and bouncers (from what I can remember). Anyway, this place was reasonable, and has some decent beers available as well as a pretty decent beer garden out the back, though not as great as some I have been to. It’s also got a decent sized dance floor and a stage for live music as well. Not one of the best, but still pretty cool.

WOWZERS!! This place was PACKED! This place is not for you if you are not interested in getting hot and sweaty while dancing/having a few drinks spilt on your feet!
The music was all 80's, which was super enjoyable for my age group! Can't imagine or recommend going here while sober though, the dance floor was chock-a-block!
