Perth Eye Clinic offers a fully comprehensive, state-of-the-art Ophthalmology service in a professional yet friendly and relaxed environment. Our Surgeon, Dr Michael Wertheim, has equipped the clinic with the most modern equipment and up-to-date technology.
Dr Michael Wertheim is a Comprehensive General Ophthalmic Surgeon with a special interest in Cataract Surgery. He hold a Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in the UK (FRCOphth) and also the Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologits (FRANZCO). He did his basic Medical Degree (MBChB) at the University of Cape Town.
Dr Wertheim also holds a Consultant position at Fremantle Hospital and is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Notre Dame. He has over 30 publications in international medical journals and has authored book chapters and presented his research internationally.
Dr Wertheim operates at The Eye Surgery Foundation on private patients. He operates at Osborne Park and Bentley Hospitals on uninsured patients at no cost to the patient.
Dr Wertheim is also a Senior Lecturer at the University of Notre Dame and holds a Consultant Ophthalmologist position at Fremantle Hospital.

Five stars aren't en0ugh for Dr Wertheim and his wonderful staff. The fact that I'm writing this reiew without glasses is testament to his skill.
From the very first appointment right through to post surgery, I felt completely reassured and in totally safe hands. I also found Dr Wertheim to be very affordable, which is refreshing, especially in these times.

We met Dr Michael Wertheim professionally shortly after he established his Opthalmic surgical practice here in Perth WA.
We have been treated by Dr Wertheim,variously, on several occasions. The most recent being that we each underwent Cataract procedures.
Dr Wertheim has our highest possible admiration and thanks, in every respect, for his professional ability care and attention for me and my wife. My wife has now achieved a situation where her vision, since the Cataract procedure, has improved incredibly and has never been better (she wore strong spectacles from a young age and now requires spectacles for limited circumstances only).

I had cataract surgery in June this year and have to say that the service and results have all been excellent. All the staff were friendly and efficient and explained the process to me clearly so I felt comfortable and confident. My surgery has been a great success and living without 'blurriness' has made a huge difference, particularly with my driving (I didn't realise it was so bad before!). Dr Werthiem was very caring and put me at ease - in fact I was so at ease that for the first eye I didn't even realise he had started the operation when he told me it was finished! I would highly recommend Perth Eye Clinic.
