Petvets Petersham Veterinary Hospital
Petersham Boarding Cattery - the next best thing to home.Petersham Veterinary Hospital is an A class hospital staffed by a caring, friendly team of highly experienced vets and nurses. Our wide range of diagnostic, medical and surgical equipment means blood tests, X-rays and ultrasound scans are all carried out in-house. If referral is required, we are close to 3 major specialist veterinary centres. Housecalls, as well as a pick-up and drop home service, are available (weekdays only, by prior arrangement). We also hire out large cages for when animals require periods of strict confinement (e.g. after major surgery). Petersham Boarding Cattery is on-site and offers very competitive rates. This is exclusively feline (although we are a drop-off / pick-up point for a reputable dog boarding kennel) so your cats stay will be stress free. Vet nurses care for, monitor and feed each cat – giving you peace of mind that veterinary attention is immediately available if required. Old cats are given extra TLC and we also cater for those on medication or prescription diets. For more information, please visit our cattery’s brand new website: ...read more
Perhaps poor reviews below were for a previous business. This vet is amazing, and recommended by several people. From the friendly receptionist to Glenn’s professionalism and diagnostic skill, I can’t speak highly enough of them. I visited two vets who couldn’t find anything wrong with my dog, clearly in pain. In 5 minutes, Glenn discovered a slipped disc complication, and successfully treated her without surgery. Happy dog and impressed owner!
Have been going to this vet for many years, only to find out my dog has never been vaccinated (when I was under the impression he had each time I took him for it and supposedly he received) and I was never advised of this by the staff ever. A simple reminder on the numerous times I had gone in for other health checks with my dog.
Was also quoted hundreds more - for a dental clean and tooth removal - then another local vet who was able to offer me an exact pricing on how much the procedure would cost me, when this vet was only able to provide a approximate varying a few hundred dollars.
Really feel that this vet is only out to get your money and didn't really care about the health and welbeing of my dog.
I took my new puppy for a vaccination and the vet allowed her to fall off the table. I was on one side trying to protect her from falling off and the vet was just sitting there ignoring the risk. Then the vet acted like she had jumped off. Didnt give me confidence in the vets there.
This has to be the most unprofessional outfit I have ever seen in any industry. Staff were extremely rude, disorganised and they quoted one price upon dropping the cat off and upon pickup they have doubled the initial quote with no advice given or mention of it. To make matters worse my cat was there over night and she came back starving. Dont take your pet here!!!
These guys are solid vets, though you're paying inner Sydney prices. Not as expensive as my former vet in a fancier part of town but more expensive than places a but further out west. They do allow cat owners to go up and inspect the facilities for cat boarding, which is good. Definitely have your cats get the appropriate vaccinations so they can make use of the outside areas during boarding! My cat did come home with fleas (never seen one on her before) so make sure you dose them with flea stuff carefully and take precautions not to get fleas infesting your house.
I am the author of this review but have since become unhappy with the vet and would not recommend them.
