We arrived a just after 6 and there was plenty of seating available, however, within half an hour both indoor and outdoor seating filled up. Service was good and our meals arrived quickly, hot and fresh. I was impressed with the caramelized pork - generous amounts of tender meat and such a yummy hearty flavour. I could have eaten the broth and rice alone and be content. I also liked the duck and prawn pancake -the crispiness of the pancake, moistness of the duck and coolness of the veges went so well together. We also ordered lemongrass chicken but I wouldn't order that again as it was quite oily and not very tasty. The prices are a bit more expensive than what I'd usually pay for local vietnamese, but I guess you'd expect that for a city restaurant.
I just ate at Phamish on a Wednesday night friends. The food was ok i guess - just standard vietnamese. We ordered the lemongrass chicken, vietnamese prawn curry and some rice paper rolls. With Rice and no drinks this came to over $60, which is pretty expensive considering.
The problem was the shockingly bad service. After waiting 25 mins for our food after ordering, we tried to signal for a wait staff to come to our table to let us know what was going on. Staff ignored us for another 5 mins so i went to the kitchen to ask. After a little while longer, the food arrived with no apology or explanation. We told the wait staff that we thought this was quite rude.
Long story short, they are rude and mean.
It was my first experience of Phamish tonight and I couldn't be less impressed. I ordered the rice paper rolls, which I had been told by my friend I was with, were delicious and I ordered the noodles with prawns. The rice paper rolls were dry and did not taste good. It later transpired that they were the vegetarian rolls, which was not what we had ordered. We told the staff this. The front staff came over and basically told us that was not true, that we did order the vegetarian roles and refused to take any responsibility or amend the situation. The customer service was appalling. The food was not that great. I will never return here again.
