Pho Pasteur
Pho Pasteur Vietnamese restaurant in Bankstown is an inexpensive place to get some of the finest Pho in Sydney. Part of the Pho Pasteur franchise (other restaurants can be found on George Street and Parramatta) this Bankstown location does not fail to deliver larger servings using only the finest ingredients. They are well known for their Pho (beef broth noodle soup) as well as their speedy service. A large Pho will set you back just under $10 and leave you feeling very satisfied.

This is my go to place for pho. The broth is so flavoursome and there are many locations so I can get my pho ‘fix’ near home or work. There are other variety of Vietnamese dishes and the interior is clean and nice with all the traditional art on the walls. A great place to show friends!
Yep so this is the third place on the same street where I've ordered the exact same dish and this by far is the best. Dong Ba was good yes and Gia Hoi a close second, but in selecting a favorite you would be nitpicking because Bankstowners are really spoilt for choice.
The simple taste yet long preparation time in the broth precedes the freshness of the meat (which still continues to cook in your bowl upon serving with the piling of fresh beansprouts and herbs into the rice noodles. Bathing in the cinnamon, clove and star anise marrow broth – the final fragrance that reels you in with soup spoon and chopsticks is so intoxicating.
Average and edible i must say. I'm a real Pho lover and get quite disappointed when a place that specialises in Pho isn't so great. I had to use a lot of chilli, lemon and fish sauce to get the flavour happening. Given the famous name which comes from a Pho joint in Ho Chi Minh City, you think they would live up to the expectations but for me it just didn't do it. It could just be my one time experience as i haven't been back since and i was really looking forward to the Pho as family and friends do say if ever in Bankstown to eat here but i probably wouldn't come back. Service is good, staff is friendly and price is reasonable.
Nice unassuming Vietnamese restaurant with a staple range of ethnic cuisine on the menu. Prices are reasonable - allow about $10-12 per person. The seating is comfortable but a little cramped. Our table that seat six hardly has any elbow room among the four adults and one child. We were ready for some 'chopstick tackling' especially if you have a left-hander in the party. The food was good but can be inconsistent. Our beef in the Beef Noodle Soup was a little chewy and stringy, however on other occasions, was perfect. Flavours were not the best I've had but were authentic as indicated by the numerous Vietnamese customers. Service is prompt and staff is attentive. Unfortunately, payment by EFTPOS was unavailable as they accept cash only.
