This place does one of the best hu tu noodle soups in Footscray. Highly recommended

Phu Vinh specialises in Vietnamese food, mostly noodles. The dish they are most famost for is their 'Hu Tieu Mi' which comes in either a broth or dry variety. Hu Tieu Mi basically means rice and egg noodles, so it's a combination of two types of noodles. It's a nice casual restaurant, mostly frequented by locals looking for a fast, healthy, filling lunch-time meal, however I've also been here at night and they're equally as busy. Reason I'm not giving them the full 5 stars is because their serving size tend to be a bit smaller than other similar restaurants in the area.

Dish to try: Hu Tieu Mi Kho Thit Tuoi (combination dried noodles [contains pork and prawns]).

This is an all-time favorite, have been going here forever from when I was a teenager, I really make myself sound old! Believe its been the same owner, have seen them go through a recent renovation. Looks much cleaner compared to the stale old look they use to have. The specialize in Hu Tieu at this place, its a is a noodle soup consisting of rice noodles with pork stock and toppings with a number of garnishes. You can have this as a soup version or as a dry version. My all-time favorite is the dry egg noodle version. Has 1 quail egg, some livers, small prawns, some minced pork, Vietnamese herbs, lettuce, bean sprouts. Also comes with a small bowl of soup. Recently I just picked up take way for one of those cold Melbourne nights to eat indoors. Although this restaurant specializes in Hu Tieu, they offer an extensive menu offering almost every Vietnamese cuisine from rice, noodle, soup dishes also.
