I've just come home from my birthday party in Phuoc Loc Tho restaurant. That is an amazing place, I must say. I went there with my family and all of us totally enjoyed the hot pot and free karaoke performance as well (When we arrived, there was a group of customers singing). However, it's a hump day (middle of the week) so the restaurant wasn't so busy. The place is very suitable for party and small wedding. The decoration and lights look great, and the entree and dessert is good.
I reckon this place for anyone loving hot pot and good atmosphere. It definitely defeat Trung Nguyen hot pot restaurant in the same street. I have had a good time today. Happy Birthday to myself!!!!
I must admit, I would have never known or thought about coming to this place if not for the Vietnamese future in-laws.
This restaurant (whose name I cannot pronounce) has an unassuming street presence. A flight of stairs will take you up to a big room filled with tables. In the centre of the room sits several tables covered with food, some of which are Vietnamese delicacies and desserts, but mostly with trays of uncooked meat, seafood and vegetables.
For our entree, we had beef cooked 7 ways. Honestly, it was a blur with lots of meat getting passed around, but it sure was good. Later, we had all-you-can-eat steamboat/hotpot where you pick out what you like from the buffet-style array and cook it in a tasty clear broth at the table. My favourite part of the meal was having (too much) tasty soup at the end soooo good.
Definitely worth a try!
Oh and I forgot to mention that toward the end of the evening, they brought out the Vietnamese karaoke. Gold!
