A casual Vietnamese restaurant in Crows Nest. Old school style tables and table settings. A great range of menu items, we tried dim sum, spring rolls and salt and pepper calamari. All of these were great. For our mains we had sizzling beef, and Pho! Top food, came out quickly. Super busy place and considering there’s so many restaurants in the area, it is obviously popular with the locals.
This place has been in the same location for over 25 years, and that says a lot! The restaurant game must be hard to stay afloat unless you're doing something right. The food is always fresh, BYO option makes for an inexpensive night out and the staff are always good. There is no view, and the
Windows are booked by coverings, don't let this put you off....but there is outdoor dining so that always a good option. Pork pancakes are delicious and a must ! Also good for take away.
Gorgeous food, timely service, very peaceful at lunch hour.
The prawn dish I had is worth the money, except that I did get slugged an extra $4.70 for a small rice for one person. If I'm already paying $15 for my meal, I expect that to include rice in it at no extra cost - or if there must be an extra charge, it should be at least half of the amount charged here and the waiter should inform you of the extra charge, not whack the extras in there and surprise you with a big bill later.
If it wasn't for the rice debacle, I would have gladly given 4 and 1/2 stars.
If you are a fan of Vietnamese food, then you definitely have to dine here. The food is wonderful, and if you order the sizzling beef, it is cooked right at your table - make sure you have a napkin over your clothes, because it can spit! The service can be a bit abrupt, bordering on rude, but the food makes up for this, and it is wonderful value for money.
