Piaf Bar & Bistro
Intimate French diningWe are an intimate French style bar and bistro located on Grey Street, South Brisbane. Our prices are cheap and food is delicious. Our menu is comprised of entree's, light meals and mains. Our food has a French touch but we also offer flavours based in Oriental cooking styles. Check out the website for further information, hope to see you soon.
In-the-know locals are flocking to this tiny French restaurant and if you haven’t heard about it yet it’s because they’re trying to keep it a secret. Well sorry, but we’re outing Piaf as one of the best restaurants in Brisbane. The food is fabulously tasty and rich but outrageously cheap — mains range from $14 to $19. The decor is beautifully constructed from wood, glass and steel, with massive windows flooding the venue with air and light. Go and see what all the fuss is about, you won’t be sorry. The owners recently opened the equally funky wine bar Sardine Tin next door.. ...read more

My husband and I are frequent visitors to Piaf and have sampled the Breakfast and Dinner menus. The ambience is relaxing and the retro French music is great as backdrop to the intimate style of the place. Breakfast is always top quality and I love the simplicity of the food. As for Dinner, I had peppercorn crusted barramundi which is a delight, very light and refreshing, perfect for the warm hazy night. Absolutely love Piaf. The only thing with small intimate bistros is that the tables are in quite close proximity which feels slightly uncomfortable when in for a romantic meal. Otherwise everything was perfect.
My husband and I tried to go there for lunch on a trip (from Northern NSW) to Brissie yesterday - We'd been to see the Valentino exhibition (superb by the way) and having read good reviews of Piaf, had it picked out for a leisurely lunch before heading back "down south".
I have a bad back, so I avoided the ridiculous hard metal seats for the only comfortable looking padded (bench) seat I spotted outside. Bearing in mind the restaurant was two thirds EMPTY, we were a bit surprised to be told we couldn't sit there as it was a table for 4. I politely told the waiter that I had a bad back and would be unable to sit for any length of time on the hard metal seats, and that as there were plenty of large tables available should a party of 4 arrive could I pls ...read more
I had a great experience at this restaurant! I went for dinner and thought the food was reasonably priced, decent in size and most important, tasty. The atmosphere is lovely, the staff were attentive and we never waited long for any of our meals or drinks.
I recommend booking as they appear to receive a fair bit of interest from pedestrians. I will definitely return to Piaf.
This place has slipped in service and food. I went there a year ago and the service was really friendly and the food was amazing, worthy of five stars - then. Went again and the service wasn't overly friendly and slow to get food out, we were left waiting 30 minutes for our main. We ordered the eye fillet medium and was served a well done chewy scotch fillet. They have also bumbed the prices up and downed the quality on the meals. Waited for the bill which never arrived when we asked for it and when we did get up and pay they mixed up our order but did refund us the difference. I don't know if this place has changed management but was very disapointed, will not dine there again.
