Love this shop!! Always make a point of stopping off on my way to Newcastle. Great for pressies for those that already have everything - you'll find something for them here.
The place has a really nice ambience, and the location close to the water and coffee shops makes it an ideal arvo out. Highly recommended.
I was surprised to find a store with such wonderful examples of traditional chinese furniture in Toronto. But it really fits into the lovely, village-like, atmosphere of the area. The pieces are divine and if you are a fan Asian flavoured interiors, you will want to take everything home with you! The pieces that I have purchased there are treasured, individual highlights in our home that visitors often comment on. I recommend dropping in if you are in the area, or, if you love Chinese/Asian interiors, make the effort to go to Toronto. You will be pleasantly surprised.
I have two young adult daughters which love to combine a visit with friends at the Toronto Coffee strip with a slow browse through Piaoliang Oriental Gallery. It offers gifts and homewares unique to true Chinese Culture and Traditiosn which is not available through the regular commercial operator. Whilst not a local to the Toronto area I often visit family and friends in Newcastle. When doing so I make sure I stop in Pia Liang to pick up whatever tickles my fancy. I find it a wonderful shope to find special gifts that I am sure 'the friend who had everything' will love. The furniture is stunning and special and I love how the feel of the shop makes me linger a little bit longer. The location makes it that little bit easier to spend a day in Toronto.
