Pickled Cactus

Love this place! Great food for reasonable prices.

I have been to Pickled Cactus a few times and loved it but my past visit I feel the service could have been a little better. I asked one wait staff for 2 mains and staff tried to talk me out of it. Saying, "You won't eat all of that!". As I am paying for it I don't believe staff should have been trying to talk me out of it when at the end of the day it IS business/money. If anything, staff should be upselling.



Like I said, most times the food and service is great but the last visit was a little off putting.

The Gold Coast doesn't sprout many Mexican restaurants, so it was a pleasure to find this place which serves great food, has great decorations and all around provides a fun ambiance for a group outing. I recently celebrated my birthday at this restaurant and the staff went above and beyond to be accommodating and friendly. All guests were given a sombrero and party poppers, and birthday song sang when they delivered the chocolate nacho dessert to be shared around. I have enjoyed a few different meals at this restaurant and would definitely recommend the sangria and the chimichangas as a favourite. For anyone else thinking of celebrating their birthday here, I would advise joining their 'birthday club' prior to your event to receive a 30% discount. Unfortunately I was not made aware of this club until after the fact, but it was still a great night with fun pictures and appeased stomachs.
