Piedimonte's Licensed Supermarket

When i went in, there was an employee stacking the shelves. But as he was doing so he was coughing all over the stock on the shelves, absolutely disgusting. Wish i had my mobile at the ready; i would have taken a picture of him. When you get your shopping home, make sure you wash everything.

Although this is a Fitzroy North icon, this supermarket is known to be quite overpriced when it comes to fresh fruit and cheese. Good for picking up snacks or if you are missing a key ingredient to your cooking but I would try to avoid doing my weekly shopping due to the pricing. On the flip side there is a large variety of fresh breads, deli meats and cheeses and also gourmet, organic and vegan friendly good choices. Easily accessible my the 112 tram.

I had the worst customer service ever at the Piedamontes IGA Fitzroy north. 3 x items on special scanned at full price (but discount price displayed on the shelf and in the IGA brochure). The manager came and told me that the lowest price item ($2.50) was free but the other that was all. I showed him the store policy displayed on the wall that states for items under $20 that are charged an inaccurate higher price are free (not just one cheapest item). The manager was so rude, embarrassingly uncaring and would not even look at their own sign. He said 'the sign doesn't matter! Take it to Consumer affairs!' And walked off. I would never recommend anyone shops here when clearly they don't value their customers and sneakily don't honour the discounts they advertise.

i shop here when I have my hair done in Fitzroy north. there is nothing else around so they have the monopoly in the area. peak times its ridiculously busy and the wait is frustrating ! otherwise good selection of european food and nice bakery.
